What is Occupational Hygiene and how can it help your business?

Occupational Hygiene specialises in the management and control of physical, chemical, and biological workplace health risks.

SK-Industrial Hygiene Services can provide you with peace of mind... our main objective is to ensure that everyone goes home safely every day.

Our highly qualified consultants will assist you in achieving and maintaining regulatory compliance by recognising the hazards, evaluating the risk and applying effective control.

Our consultancy services include:

Workplace Health Risk Assessment

Initial assessment of the workplace to identify physical, chemical and biological hazards and quantify risk.

Workplace Exposure Monitoring

An evaluation of various hazardous substances (e.g. dusts, gases, fumes), in compliance with The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH 2002).

Noise Surveys

Workplace noise assessments evaluate the risk of hearing damage to work groups, and assist with implementing suitable control. Environmental noise assesses the potential impact of noise on residential properties from industrial or commercial sources.

Vibration Monitoring

Hand-Arm Vibration monitoring aims to reduce the risk of disabling disorders of the blood vessels, nerves and joints as a result of using hand-held power tools. Whole Body Vibration monitoring evaluates the risk from shocks and jolts while using mobile machines and vehicles which can lead to lower back disorders.

LEV Testing And Design

Local Exhaust Ventilation testing (LEV): By conducting this mandatory testing we can ensure our clients are meeting their statutory duties. It covers anything from fume cupboards and welding extraction to large paint spray booths.

Asbestos Management

If you own, manage or are responsible for a premises that may contain asbestos we will ensure that your legal duty to manage it is fulfilled through identification of materials, assessing the risk and assisting with overall management.

Emissions Monitoring

The evaluation of environmental impact from industrial processes, normally focusing on direct stack emissions.

Face Fit Testing

Tight-fitting face pieces need to fit the wearer's face to be effective. As faces come in all shapes and sizes fit testing ensures that the equipment selected is suitable for the wearer.

Training

We can offer varying levels of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) assessor and awareness training, Asbestos awareness and competent person training, and BOHS (British Occupational Hygiene Society) modules including W201 - Basic Principles in Occupational Hygiene.
